The Return of Song Online

Join us in the online broadcast of our December 2021 concert, recorded and shared via Zoom! Purchasing access to this event welcomes you to the Zoom premiere on Monday, December 13, 2021, at 8:00PM, along with the ability to view the recording online through December 31, 2021.

This concert features the world premiere of the New Amsterdam Singers commission I Go Among Trees by Robert Paterson, with guest marimbist Makoto Nakura. Plus, we’ll present the New York premiere of We Will Stand Up by Karen Siegel. Inspired by the youth plaintiffs demanding a stable climate in Juliana vs. United States, the work was commissioned by a 10-choir consortium.

American Voices, Classic and New

Broadway Presbyterian Church Broadway at 114th Street, New York, NY

This program of American music is a combination of old favorites and brand new pieces. Barber’s Reincarnations was last on an NAS program in 2008, sung by Chamber Chorus, who will sing it again. NAS first sang Copland’s In the Beginning in 1980 when we put together an all-Copland 80th Birthday Celebration, attended by the composer. Since it is a great work and a choral showpiece, we have programmed it periodically over the decades and look forward to performing it…
