The New Amsterdam Singers put our 2019-2020 season and other in-person activities on hold in March 2020 due to the spread of covid-19, but we continue to make music together and look toward resuming rehearsals and performances in 2021. Join our mailing list to keep informed of these and other projects in this unique season!
To support the health and well-being of our singers, our audience, and our community, all our plans for future concerts are tentative. We are currently hoping to resume rehearsals in January 2021 and offering our delayed performance of Through the Seasons, including the premiere of Robert Patterson’s I Go Among Trees, on March 5 and 7, 2021. To get the latest on our plans for future performances and receive other updates during our Music in Place period, sign up for our mailing list.
Enjoy these virtual performances of some of our favorite pieces!
To keep our voices polished and our musical skills in good shape, we are gathering for online rehearsals and other musical activities via Zoom at our regular Tuesday evening time. During summer 2020, these include a visit by composer Karen Siegel to discuss her composition “We Will Stand Up,” a voice lesson from Tim Krol (formerly of Chanticleer), a guitar recital by our own David Ortiz, an opportunity to sing some Renaissance and Baroque favorites, and shared insights into some of the poems that serve as texts for our performances. Participation is open to current, past, and future singers of NAS. For more information, contact us at email@example.com.
