Join Clara Longstreth and the chorus by Zoom to enjoy musical treasures in a variety of formats: a selection of video and recordings from past NAS concerts, new virtual recordings made for this occasion, and carol singing for everyone as our audience joins singers in seasonal carols from the comfort of home.
David Recca, assistant conductor with NAS since 2014, will give his first virtual solo piano recital on Tuesday, January 12th at 7pm. The repertoire will include Bach's French Suite No. 5 in G major, Chopin's "Heroic" Polonaise in A flat major, Rachmaninoff's Prelude in G minor, op. 23, no. 5, several lovely character pieces by Grieg, and the beloved "Pathétique" Sonata by Beethoven.

In celebration of Black History Month, join New Amsterdam Singers music director Clara Longstreth in a look at the rich history of Black composers in classical music. This program of musical excerpts and discussion will span the works of early to mid-20th century pioneers William Grant Still, William Dawson, and Florence Price and a new choral work by Joel Thompson inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement.
