Committed to Excellence. Defined by Creativity.
Please join us for a musical evening with pianist (and long-time NAS accompanist) Elizabeth Rodgers and composer Wendy Griffiths. The program will include a suite for piano called Rogue Taxidermy: eight movements, each based on an invented animal such as the Moth Frog or the Zebra Prawn, and each illustrated with a sketch by the composer. There are also two cabaret songs, and a song with a dancer. Finally, an example of Wendy Griffiths’ charm as a composer of popular music with her band Changing Modes. You will also see an interview in which Clara Longstreth interviews both musicians.
The New Amsterdam Singers’ Music in Place series offers virtual gatherings to sing together, listen to recitals, learn from composers, and more. Attendance is open to the full NAS community: singers, alums, and audience. If you haven’t already registered for Music in Place, please register to receive access information.
