Music in Place: Boyd Meets Girl, A Recital for New Amsterdam Singers and Friends

We are excited to welcome the tremendously engaging and vibrant duo of Australian classical guitarist, Rupert Boyd, and American cellist, Laura Metcalf, who will perform an eclectic and wide-ranging program of pieces by diverse composers from different centuries and continents. The program includes pieces by Claude Debussy, Franz Schubert, Marian Budos, Florence Price, Robert Beaser, Jaime Zenamon – and Beyonce! Acclaimed soloists in their own right, “they play like one, with a harmony of purpose as sure as their intonation” said a review in Gramaphone of their debut album released in 2017. The performers will introduce each piece, and answer questions following their performance.
